WELCOME to the Cumberland County Republican Committee website.

WELCOME to the Cumberland County Republican Committee website.

We're on a roll and we NEED YOUR HELP!

It's caucus season and around Cumberland County our town and city committees are working hard to attract as many republicans to their caucuses as possible.

In the past, being a Republican candidate for office in Maine was often a lonely, solo Endeavour. It doesn't have to be that way. Campaigns are a team effort, and it's time we built winning teams for all our candidates for office!

Attending your town and city caucus will be a great way for you to get connected with like minded neighbors and will give you an opportunity to get involved in helping candidates who are committed to getting Maine back on the right track. Now is the time for you to get involved.

You can find your town's caucus location, date and time here.

We rebuilt this website a few months back to make it easier for you and your town committee to use. Our calendar page, as well as the individual town pages, will help you keep up to speed with what's happening here in Cumberland County. I hope you'll check back often for updates and GET INVOLVED!

All the best,

Rich Cebra

January 19, 2010 CCRC Meeting in Freeport- CANCELED!

The meeting scheduled for this evening in Freeport is canceled due to the inclement weather.

Tentatively, this meeting will be rescheduled for next Tuesday, January 26 at the same time and place.

Email updates will be sent once the rescheduled date is confirmed.

Thank you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

On Tuesday December 15th we had our Annual Cumberland County Republican Committee Christmas Party at the Portland Company in Portland. It was another great CCRC gathering continuing on the momentum we've been building throughout 2009. It was great to have State Chairman Charlie Webster in attendance as well as Several house and senate candidates and gubernatorial candidates or their representatives as part of the festivities.

It was also great to meet and introduce the County Committee to quite a few new faces, all eager to get to work helping our Republican Candidates to victory in 2010!!!

A huge thanks goes out to Phyllis Koenig of Windham and Jan Love of Cape Elizabeth for organizing the evening (the rave reviews on the buffet are still pouring in!!!) A special thank you to The Portland Company for the use of their excellent facilities! Here's a LINK to some great photographs taken by Gary Foster of Gray.

Our attentions in the New Year will all be geared towards our Victory 2010 efforts. We've got great plans for 2010 and our first coordinated effort of the new year will be our town caucuses in late January and early February. Our Caucus Assistance Plan is already in the works and from all my conversations at the Christmas party, the excitement is growing!

That's the start of something big next year but for now, I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.

All the best,

Rich Cebra

Chairman

Great Start for 2010!

"These are the times that try men’s souls.  The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will shrink from this crisis, will shrink from the service of his country.  But he that stands now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine

Another election cycle is behind us we begin to move on to the next energized and ready to take it to the Democrats. The Cumberland County Republican Committee continues to work to insure that our county Republican and Independent voters be well informed coming into to one of the most important gubernatorial elections in our time. We have seen our economy destroyed by the progressive administration and legislative leadership in Augusta and now we're facing the same in Washington, DC. We must take our state back and show the working people of Maine that we have the right ideas and people to bring prosperity back to our state.

Our first gathering in our Countdown to Victory 2010 will be at our regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 17Th meeting at the Songo Locks School, just off Route 302 on Songo School Road in Naples, we'll be having coffee at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7 pm. We'll be inviting gubernatorial Candidates to our monthly meeting thru the primaries. This month Senator Peter Mills will be speaking to our group.  We also have Maine State Senate Republican Richard Nass joining us, Richard is working on recruiting candidates for the legislature for the House Republican Caucus in the first Congressional District and he will be speaking  about recruiting candidates for office. If you know someone who is interested in getting involved and running for office or even if you know someone who would be a great candidate but isn't even thinking about running yet, THIS IS THE MEETING TO BRING THEM TO!!!

I hope you'll join us, We're off to a great start for 2010, it's going to be a GREAT year for Republicans, BE PART OF IT!!!

Lets keep the ball rolling to VICTORY 2010!!!

All the best,

Rich Cebra

Autumn Greetings !

Fellow Cumberland County Republicans,

It's hard to believe that October is here already! Looking back over the summer we can take pride in our County Committee's successful events The 5th Annual Golf Outing and our First Annual Songo River Queen Sunset Cruise.  Both events were very encouraging in their level of participation, our Golf tourney sponsorship challenge was a great success, at the September Committee meeting in Gray we were able to present the town committees that participated, their share of the sponsorship money. The Town of Naples won the competition! Town Chairman Richard Cross was presented with a check for $675! Congratulations Naples Town Republican Committee!!!

We're getting a lot closer to having 100% active committees in all our towns. Baldwin re-organized this summer and Sebago is in the process of re-organizing. Watch this space as we rebuild our town committees into effective political committees!

The Songo River Queen Sunset Cruise was a great fun get together, it was fantastic to see the Republican candidates for governor meeting and talking with all the passengers. As we were disembarking the overwhelming sentiment was "lets do this again next year!" We'll plan it for the weekend after Labor Day again next year.

With the end of September comes the Cumberland County Fair, our county committee has a great presence at the fair thanks to the hard work led by Windham's Tony Oberley. We've made the booth available to Repblican Candidates for Governor and they scheduled time at our booth. Thank you Tony for all your work on the fair.

We've invited the Republican Candidates for governor to our monthly meetings, At our well attended regular meeting held in New Gloucester in September, Les Otten took some time to lay out his vision for Maine's future. Watch this space in the coming months for dates and times for candidates appearances.

We're starting to plan our second Town Chair Summit, we'll be meeting in the beginning of November (just 12 short months before the 2010 elections) and lay out our plans for the year leading up to taking back the Blaine house and doing our part to help take back the Maine House and Senate!!!

We're on a roll to VICTORY in 2010!

All the best,

Rich Cebra
